Feeling emotionally overwhelmed? This will help you feel better in minutes. Practical tips.
Life can sometimes be so overwhelming. You’re feeling like you can barely keep your head above the water and you just don’t know what to do improve your situation. I have been there many times. I think I have been there for years to be honest. It is draining and sucking the life right out of you.
The really good news is that all you need to do is shift your awareness. But that will sound like a shitty advice if you are right down in it right now. That is why I will let Abraham Hicks explain it to you. It will only take about 7 minutes and probably you will notice that afterwards your energy has shifted already and you will start to feel better. Perhaps you want to listen to it a few times. Or perhaps every day before you go to sleep. After the Abraham Hicks segment I will share a few more vital practices which have helped me over the years to find my calm.
I hope you enjoyed that and above all I hope you are starting to notice how your energy/focus is shifting towards a better feeling place? Basicly, A Better Feeling Place is what it is all about. Try to remember that? All you need to be able to do is get yourself into A Better Feeling Place when you don’t feel well. There are many ways to do so. Listening to your favorite music or watching something that will make you laugh (out loud is best. Go for something so damn funny you can hardly keep your laughter in).
But usually around bedtime – or in the middle or the night – it might feel impossible to find rest and fall asleep… while all day you have felt so drained and tired and all you wanted was to finally go to bed and rest. It is such a vicious cycle. But here is how to break it:
- If you can meditate, remember to do this before you go to sleep (it’s crazy how we can forget things like this)
- Listen to a guided meditation which you really like (Youtube has a gazillion great ones. Go find which ones you like best. For me David Harshada Wagner works really really well.
- I personally really suck at meditation but this really works well for me: Before I go to sleep I take about 15 minutes time to unwind my mind. What I will do is; I turn off all the devices (my phone is faced down and I won’t look at it anymore). No music, no TV, no nothing. I dim my bed light so only a faint light is visible. I will sit or lay down comfortably on my back. Not in sleeping position, more in a straight but relaxing posture. I will keep my eyes open (although they will close eventually) and I will now allow all thoughts that enter my mind. It’s kind of like watching CNN with all my headlines which have piled up in my head. That’s it! Usually I will fall asleep or just manage to switch my light off. I will sleep the entire night and wake up refreshed. – You might also choose for writing down all your shizzles before you go to sleep. Write it off can work really well as well.
- Sometimes (especially when the kids are with their dad) I feel lonely around bedtime. Whenever I feel like this I will listen to either an Abraham Hicks audio fragment or David Harshada Wagner and I will fall asleep like a baby. The internet is such a blessing with so much free options available to us at all times. Go find what works well for you and create an easy to go to playlist for when you most need it.
